Customer Review: Great for rough holes

These bits are some of the easiest and fastest for making small diameter holes in wood.
The holes these bits leave are not always the smoothest but are clean enough for running wires or small pipes. I also own a set of Irwin spade bits but this set is the one I use if I am going to bore completely through a board.
One word of caution, what another reviewer mentioned is correct; these bits, especially the larger ones require quite a bit of torque. A low speed corded drill with gear reduction will run them but will also place alot of strain on your wrists. Luckily these bits have a quick release shank which means they work perfectly with impact drivers. Not only does an impact driver drill the hole much faster it also saves your wrist and the small size makes it easier if you are working between studs or rafters.
